Esl Study Grants

Grants help programs fund ESL classes.

English as a Second Language programs, commonly referred to as ESL, teach English to non-English speakers who wish to learn English or improve their English skills. Students may include immigrants and refugees or any person whose primary language is not English. Community colleges, nonprofit organizations and public schools offer ESL classes. Grant programs that support literacy, education and self-sufficiency programs often fund ESL study. Government programs that focus on immigrants and refugees also provide grants for ESL study.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services agency provides grants for community-based programs to provide direct services to legal immigrants. Eligible applicants include state and local governments and educational institutions; Native American tribal governments and organizations; nonprofit organizations; and small businesses.
