Average consumers are bombarded with advertisements. Consumers see ads on TV, or mixed in with personal messages from friends on their favorite social media sites. Advertisements are on highway billboards, buses and cabs, and sometimes are so prevalent that consumers tune them out. There are still cute--and effective--ways however, to advertise a product or service offline.
Contests
Organize a contest that offers a free giveaway of your product or service. Make the offering attractive enough for buyers in your target audience to want to compete for it as well as mention it to others. Contact media and and let them know the start and end dates. Give the contest a cute name. Design fun fliers and distribute them in the street. Announce the winner in a ceremony held on the street or in a park, so that you also attract curious onlookers.
Coffee Cups
Put your logo and contact information on coffee cups. Make the design distinctive and colorful. Supply the coffee cups free to bakeries, delis and restaurants interested in providing you with free advertising in exchange for supplies. Commit to your coffee cup campaign for as long as possible to allow for customers who use them to become familiar with your brand.
Costumes
Dress up in kooky costumes that you rent or design yourself. Hang advertisements around your necks and go to a busy shopping area that allows you to connect with your potential buyers. Engage people who stop and stare in conversation. Talk to them about your company. Use the opportunity to distribute business cards or even collect their contact information.
Donations
Donate your products or services to public schools raising funds. The name of your company will appear on their fund-raising materials, making both students and parents aware of your brand. Charity organizations holding auctions are also always seeking donations. The larger the event, the more buzz for your brand it can create.
