Fliers can be used to effectively promote anything from a promotional event or offer at your business to a summer fair or open day at school. Designing and printing fliers for free is a relatively simple task that can be undertaken without any knowledge of graphic design or marketing. They can be made at home using programs that are included in Windows such as Works or with more-powerful software that can be downloaded for free.
Instructions
1. Open your design or word-processing program on your computer or download free software from the Internet. Microsoft Office or Works can be used to create fliers if you have one of them or programs such as Serif Pageplus starter edition and Open Office can be downloaded for free and are extremely powerful tools for producing any sort of leaflet or flier.
2. Choose one of the pre-installed flier templates. Access templates from the "file" menu by clicking "New" then "Templates" and selecting one that is suitable for your promotion or event. The professionally designed flier templates are ready-built and simply need to be filled in with your information.
3. Customize the flier template by double-clicking the sample text and images then replacing them with your own content. If you do not have images of your own, download free images from the Internet that fit in with your flier.
4. Save your completed flier for future use. Open the "File" menu, select "Save as" and name your flier. Choose a directory to save the file to and click "Save."
5. Connect your printer to the computer and load it with high-quality paper. Open the "File" menu once more and select "Print." This will open the print setup window. Configure the printer for the paper size you are using and enter the number of copies you wish to produce using the on-screen options.
6. Click "Preview" to see an image of how your flier will look once printed. Providing you are happy with the preview, click "Print" to produce your free fliers.
