Get A Child Into Commercials

Get a Child Into Commercials

You've seen many commercials featuring children who are plainer and less talented than your own, so what's stopping your child from being in a commercial? It takes a lot of time, effort and money, but it can be done if you and your child are dedicated to the effort.

Instructions

Working with the Look

1. Hire a professional photographer to get a good head shot. You do not need an entire portfolio until after your child lands an agent.

2. Enroll in a commercial class (if your child is over the age of 4). This will teach your child the basics of commercial shooting and save the director a lot of time and grief.

3. Find an agent. Reputable agents will not try to sell you packages or anything else. To find an agent, ask other parents in your community , look in the yellow pages and also check out the link in the resource section. It lists talent/modeling agencies by state.

4. Now you need to hire a professional photographer to create a portfolio. Once your child has been accepted by an agent or manager, you will need to pay for that portfolio.

5. Commit yourself to a lot of time. Auditions are usually on weekdays, which means your child might miss a lot of school. In addition, you will probably find yourself driving several hours to jobs, if you do not live in a major metropolitan area.
