While some may see marketing assistant positions as a stepping stone to higher paying jobs, PayScale.com shows that continued work as an assistant leads to significant growth in pay. Top average salaries for those with one to four years of experience are recorded around $39,000 per year. After five to nine years in the job, however, this number grows to $47,182.
