Good Objectives For A Resume For A Marketing Position

Resume objectives are career goal descriptions that are often presented at the top of a candidate's resume. The objectives should be related to the type of job or career the candidate has experience working in or the type of job being applied for. Marketing objectives can differ greatly, depending on the type of marketing job in question and the level of expertise the candidate has.

Interns and Students

People who are applying for a marketing intern position will have less direct and focused objectives and goals within the marketing industry. Interns may want to learn the basic operations of a marketing company and learn the system of how marketing campaigns are planned, designed and implemented. Showing a genuine interest in the industry and in the smaller projects conducted within a marketing company can be ideal objectives for a temporary intern or contract student worker.

Entry-Level Candidates

Entry-level employees or people who have only worked in the industry for a couple of months may have gotten a taste of the industry. Entry-level workers may not have completed projects on their own but may have been part of a larger team on important or significant projects or campaigns. Since entry-level employees often learn much information during the first years in the industry, objectives can include expanding existing industry knowledge, learning more about the industry and using academic skills in practical situations.

Experienced Workers

Experienced workers are individuals who may have worked in the industry for a couple of years but who have only tried working on specific projects or for a single company. An experienced worker's resume objective can include improving existing marketing techniques and skills, working hard to grow in the industry, start managing projects and employees and expanding the knowledge of different types of marketing and campaigning. While some companies only focus on print marketing, others combine online marketing, poster advertisements, written article marketing and event promotions.

Senior Objectives

Professionals who have been working in marketing for many years will have specific objectives that differ greatly from interns or entry-level workers. Senior objectives can include improving the ability to create effective designs, developing appealing marketing campaigns and continuing to be a leader and manager in new and exciting work environments. Since senior workers have already had extensive experience in some marketing areas, the focus of the objectives should be improving or continuing to create marketing projects that appeal to the target audience.
