Are Concert Ticket Presales Worth Trying

Concert presales allow fans an opportunity to purchase tickets before they are available to the general public. Presales are not always open to anyone; at times, you must be a fan club member or subscribe to a group's email list.

Benefits

Presales allow you to purchase tickets before the general public and scalpers. Often, the closer seats are available in presale and may not be available after the presale because they are sold out. Presales may also be the only way to guarantee tickets to see popular artists with general admission seating.

Problems

To purchase presale tickets, you must obtain a code from the band's website, email list or fan club. You must also purchase tickets during a specific time. This time is usually during the week before the tickets go on sale on Saturday. The timing can be a problem for people with 9-to-5 jobs.

Scalping

If you want close seats in the best sections without paying a scalper, presales are the best way to do this. Not only will you sometimes be able to purchase close seats, but it can also guarantee you tickets for the show.
