Most places will do hair and makeup, and then do a princess parade or fashion show. This type of party can be on the more expensive side. This theme could also be done in an inexpensive way. Have the party at your house. Go to a craft store and pick up feathered boas, and inexpensive tiaras can be purchased at any party store. If you so choose, have the kids come to the party already dressed up in their own princess attire. You can do a a parade around the neighborhood or a fashion show in your backyard. This is a perfect idea for any occasion, especially a birthday party.
Fifties Style
A fifties-style party can work for any age. Send out invitations that specify a '50s theme. The guests will arrive in poodle skirts, rolled up jeans, and of course slicked back hair for the boys, pony tails for the girls. You can decorate with records and play '50s music in the background. You could even have a contest for the best dressed. Prizes could include a gift card or a basket with '50s memorablia.
Halloween Dress Up
Of course Halloween is the perfect time for a dress-up party. Your guests will arrive in their favorite costumes. It could be a traditional Halloween theme, or you can pick a specific type of dress such as famous couples, favorite superhero or famous person. With this type of party you could make the evening fun with a best costume contest and a pumpkin carving contest. This kind of dress-up party would work for all ages.
