Advertising your health care facilities and/or services is important in making the public aware of your offerings. When developing health care advertising ideas there are several approaches. Tailor your marketing program toward specific demographic groups when appropriate, such as services specifically available for elderly patients.
Commercials
Commercials can be an effective way to advertise your health care services. A commercial can be placed either on television, online or both. Online, look for websites that allow video advertising and that appeal to specific groups you want to reach. For example, if you do cancer research then placing your commercial on websites that deal specifically with this disease would be appropriate. On television, you can either place your commercials in a local television market or, with a more robust marketing budget, in a national spotlight. If your health care facility or business has a website, put your commercial spots there as well.
Magazines
Choose a magazine to advertise in based on the publication's readership. Magazines that are largely devoted to health care and wellness issues can be a good match for your ads. Include a bullet-point list of services offered when possible. An image of a patient or client who has benefited from your services and will recommend you can also be a plus when seeking to create and ad that is effective.
Mailers and Fliers
Mailers can reach a large number of potential clients. You can send mailers out yourself or place your ad in a mailer package through a company that provides this service. Include all pertinent information on your mailer, such as your address, phone number and website. Fliers can be placed in your hospital's lounge or in businesses. Consider placing fliers in nursing homes or senior living complexes. Fliers can detail types of equipment your company provides for home use, or, alternately, services your hospital makes available to the senior community.
