Make A Print Shop Sign

A shop sign can lure more customers into your business

If you are the owner of any retail business, you (as any seller) feel delight at the sound of the door being opened by your daily customers. Sometimes, you may not have as many customers as the local store across the street. This may be due to one single reason: the appealing print shop sign of your rival business. A shop sign is not only an indication for potential customers, but a marketing strategy as well. Moreover, it's easy and doesn't demand too much time to do it.

Instructions

1. Create an attractive design that will compel people to enter your store.

2. Use Illustrator programs, such as Adobe Photoshop or Corel Draw. Download a font of your preference (see Resources), and write the name of your shop. Add a witty description of your shop below the name. For instance, if you own a drugstore, you may put: Andy's Drugstore -- We give you health at the lowest prices.

3. Choose soothing colors. It's suggested not to use strong, bright colors like bright pink, or a too strong shade of orange. It's better to use soothing colors, like a slight shade of pink, or a touch of gray.

4. Use an image related to what you sell. Take the drugstore example again; you can put a caricature of a smiling pill, or a happy, healthy family.

5. Print your shop sign. Make sure it's big enough to fit the empty shop sign. If you don't have enough ink to print, you can always go to your nearest local printer and ask them to do it for a small fee.

6. Paste the printed sign on the empty shop sign.

7. Put the sign at about 50 inches above your door.
