Anonymous Call Rejection prevents your phone from ringing for calls from private callers.
When a call is placed to a phone equipped with caller ID, the caller's information, including the name and phone number, is displayed. If the caller is blocking this information, the ID displays "Blocked Call" or "Anonymous." Anonymous Call Rejection can help you prevent a stalker from calling your home phone on a private number. If a call is placed from a private number to a home phone with this feature, the caller hears a recording advising him that the call must be disconnected and the caller information unblocked.
Instructions
1. Contact your phone service provider and request Anonymous Call Rejection. The representative can provide you with the activation date for the feature.
2. Pick up your phone on the activation date and listen for a dial tone. Dial "*77" on the phone's handset.
3. Listen for two confirmation beeps and hang up the phone. Private calls from a stalker are now routed to the Anonymous Call Rejection message.
