Bar codes are generated using a computer software program.
Bar codes are printed symbols containing coded data that can be uploaded to a computer by means of a scanner. A bar code allows a business to keep track of its stock and have instant access to information about each product. A bar code is created using bar code-generating software programs. Customizing a bar code is a simple process that involves entering your data into the software program, and printing the bar code.
Instructions
1. Open your Internet browser and visit Barcode-Generator, Barcoding or Barcodesoft. View the software program interface typically presented on the website's home page. Look at the list of various types of bar codes available, and click on the type of bar code that you wish to use.
2. Locate the space where you are allowed to enter the information that will be converted into a bar code, and type the data in the space provided. Click on the "Generate Bar Code" button to create the bar code image. View the resulting bar code image, right click on the image, and click on "Save Image As" in the resulting drop-down menu to save the image in your computer.
3. Close the bar-code generating program, and open the saved bar code image in your computer. Right click the saved image and click on "Print" in the resulting drop-down menu to print the bar code. Scan the printed bar code to upload the information in your computer, and check the uploaded data to check if it is accurate.
