gift cards
A hand crafted gift card is always appreciated. It shows the receiver that the giver has also given the gift of time in creating something just for him or her. It's an expression of friendship or affection. Write a personal message inside. An example might be, "Have a wonderful birthday", "When I saw this gift, I thought of you" or "Just because". A little imagination goes a long way.
Instructions
1. Cut a sheet of card stock on the paper cutter so that it is 5 1/2-inches by 8 1/2-inches. Fold each cut piece in half lengthwise and make a crease. Now the gift card is 5 1/2-inches by 4 1/4-inches.
2. Cut a sheet of decorative paper on the paper cutter a little smaller than the front of the gift card: 5-inches by 4-inches.
3. Apply two strips of double-sided tape on the back of the decorative piece of paper near the edges, one near the top and one near the bottom (or opposite ends). Flip over and press onto the front of the gift card, centered.
4. Cut a small piece of card stock, about 3-inches by 1-inch. With a calligraphy pen or marker, write "A Gift for You". Apply a strip of double-sided tape on the back and press it onto the front of the gift card (at an angle or centered). See illustration in Introduction.
5. Using a hot glue gun, apply embellishments on the gift card such as gold plastic buttons or metallic ribbon. Write a personal message inside the gift card with a marker or calligraphy pen and insert it into the envelope.
