Promote My Website On Social Networks

Social networking websites, such as Facebook and Twitter, give you the opportunity to connect with friends you already have and make new ones, and also to advertise and promote your professional endeavors. If you own and operate a website, harness the power of social media to expose your site, not only to those who have befriended and followed you -- your social network -- but also to friends of friends who share your content with their friends.

Instructions

1. Edit your profiles on all social media websites you use to include the URL to your website. Beyond any promotion of special articles and pages, associating your website with your profile on each site ensures anyone who views your profile has the opportunity to visit your site.

2. Post links to your blog or website alongside the updates you send out, using social media websites to promote individual pages or posts you make. Use the rest of your update to explain the importance of your link to your audience, and send a picture along if possible.

3. Create a Facebook "Page" for your website, where friends of yours and other users become "Fans" of the webpage, and whose Facebook feed you devote entirely to promoting content from your blog. Promote your page to your personal Facebook network to attract more fans.

4. Cross-promote whenever possible. For example, copy the URLs of relevant posts or pages into the description of pictures you upload to Flickr or videos you upload to YouTube. Alternatively, advertise your Facebook page by posting a link to it on Twitter.

5. Remind friends to share if they like what they see. One of the most powerful tools of social networking is that it only takes a re-post of your content by someone else to expose it to an entirely new and different audience. If enough people who aren't connected to you re-post your content, it goes "viral" and becomes wildly popular.
