Genius Marketing Ideas

Use new marketing ideas to successfully market a product or service

Marketers must develop new, innovative and fresh marketing ideas to maintain an edge in the advertising world. Marketing trends and strategies should adjust to changing technology and new mediums. Marketers can observe how other marketer’s ideas work and note which new technological mediums become popular when creating their own genius marketing ideas.

Branding

Find ways to brand your product or service so that potential customers or clients will instantly recognize the item’s image. Branding allows a marketer to create an image or product reputation and encourage the public to see the marketed item as having personal relevance. Branding anchors customers to something important and familiar, building loyalty and driving purchase behavior. Create a logo and put it on T-shirts, candies, postcards and bumper stickers. Sponsor local events with the brand’s image prominently displayed. Create different branding taglines and images for different populations. An image and tagline that may work for a 20-something crowd will play differently to a group of senior citizens, so if you aim your marketing at both populations, you should find different branding techniques for each group.

Website

Create an interactive, state-of-the-art website to excite site visitors and create a buzz about the product. Use a graphic designer to build a graphically-attractive site. Create a forum that displays comments of satisfied customers and clients and allows them to "chat" through the forum. Include "expert" articles with information that expands on the marketing pitch but gives the impression of offering researched information, written by knowledgeable people, that emphasizes the marketed product or service. Offer an "Ask the Expert" service which allows people to write in with their questions that pertain to the service or product (or similar information). Add a blog to the website. Add a photo gallery to the website and keep the pictures updated. Insert keywords thoughtfully into the website which can push the site to a higher ranking on search engines. Create crosslinks to other websites that promote similar products or services.

Social Networks

Develop a presence on social network sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. Spend one hour each day expanding the network of contacts on the social network site. Send out periodic updates, buzzes, tweets and other updating notices to notify friends and contacts about new developments and information that the product or service offers. Connect with friends-of-friends. Target the selected population when drawing new people in to investigate the product or service. Make periodic requests of friends and contacts which can allow them to forward the provided information on to new people. Use the paid advertising pay-per-click that these sites offer, which automatically targets the selected population.
