Many people have seen those spam emails with titles such as, "Claim your $1000 Walmart gift card!," but those often come with conditions such as the completion of a multi-tier set of conditions, including signing up for a new credit card and filing for a new car/home/life insurance policy. It sounds good, but in the long term, you end up spending far more than you got in the gift card. Fortunately, there are ways to get free gift cards without having to spend a ton of money.
Instructions
1. Sign up for some online survey sites. Multiple online survey companies are willing to exchange your time answering short surveys for gift cards, free products and even cash. The surveys can be done from home at any time, and you can pick and choose which ones you want to do.
2. Watch for retail promotions. Numerous retail companies have limited time offers where you can get free gift cards for bringing in items such as canned foods or old clothes to donate to charity. With these offers, you can get free cards while getting rid of items you already have and no longer use.
3. Sign up for club cards. Many stores such as supermarkets offer free club cards that you can use when you make purchases at their stores. When you buy something at any of the participating stores, whether you use cash, check or credit card, you can use the club card along with your money to accumulate points that can be traded in for gift cards. With club cards, you get points for buying items you already needed anyway, and with some cards, including the Kroger Grocery Store Card, you can save money on your purchases and even earn points toward reduced cost per gallon of gasoline at participating gas stations.
