Tumblr has a built-in audio post feature making it easy to post music to your blog every day. This is the perfect avenue for artists looking for a new way to showcase their work or for podcasters starting out. There are limitations to the music you post to Tumblr; you must have the legal right to post it, and can only post one audio file a day. Tumblr can only host and play MP3 files. Hosted MP3 files cannot be more than 10 MB.
Instructions
1. Go to your Tumblr dashboard and click the "Audio" icon at the top of the page, the second-to-last of your post options.
2. Select whether you're uploading your file or streaming it from an external source. Uploaded MP3s will be hosted by Tumblr. If you're linking to an external URL, make sure that you have permission to do so, as every time someone plays that audio it will use the hoster's bandwidth.
3. Either paste the URL to an externally-hosted MP3 or click "Choose File" and select an MP3 file to upload from your computer.
4. Add a description to your audio post, if you're so inclined; adding text is optional.
5. Select the check box that acknowledges that you have permission to post this audio and click "Create Post." If you're uploading an MP3 the post may take a couple minutes while the file uploads.
