Make My Own Tattoo Website

Make a website for your tattoo shop.

If you are a tattoo artist who is looking to extend your market reach but don't have the money to do a lot of marketing, an affordable way to extend that reach is to create your own tattoo website. Designing a website for your tattoo shop is like placing your business card on the Internet. When done right, it can entice tattoo seekers to walk into your shop. However, in order to entice the seekers, there are essential elements that needs to be placed on your site.

Instructions

1. Take pictures of some of the tattoos you have done. Upload the pictures of your tattoos to the hard drive of your computer.

If you took the pictures with a digital camera, you can upload them to your hard drive by connecting a mini-USB cord from the digital camera to your computer. If you have hard copies of your pictures, you can use a scanner to scan them to your computer's hard drive. If you don't have a scanner, go to an office supply store and have the pictures scanned to a disk.

2. Choose a domain name for your tattoo website. Try to incorporate the keyword "Tattoo" in the domain name. By doing so your site is more likely to be found by Internet search engines when Internet users are searching for tattoo websites.

3. Choose a web hosting provider for your tattoo website. You can choose a free web hosting provider or a paid web hosting provider. One of the downsides of using a free web hosting provider is that the web hosting company tends to place advertisements on your site. This can appear rather unprofessional. If you desire to maintain a professional presentation paid hosting is the way to go.

4. Log into your web hosting account to access your "Site Editor" or Site Builder." You can now begin creating basic web pages for your tattoo website. Some of the basic pages you want to add to your tattoo website is your location, contact information, office hours.

5. Upload the pictures from your computer's hard drive into the "File Directory" of your site builder.

6. Click the option to build a "New" page. You can then start creating pages for your tattoo website that entails information that will help someone make a decision about whether or not he should use your services. For example, state your sterilization practices, whether or not you have artwork he can choose from or if he must bring his own artwork, whether or not you can cover up old tattoos, whether or not an appointment is required, whether or not the customer's satisfaction is guaranteed.

7. Create an "Aftercare" page on your website that will educate your former customers of what she needs to know to properly care for her new tattoo. For example, the length of time the bandage must stay on the tattoo, and the type of ointment that she should place on her tattoo to expedite healing.

8. Create your "Portfolio" page. On the portfolio page all you have to do is add the images that were uploaded to your file directory in step 5. If you like, you can place a description with each picture.

9. "Save" and "Publish" your tattoo website when you are satisfied with the finished design.
