Advertise A Home Health Care Business

Advertising a home health care business can be tricky, especially when you're just starting out and on a tight budget. Sometimes you have to get a little creative, but putting these tips to work can go a long way toward filling your home health care business.

Instructions

1. Distribute eye-catching fliers to community centers, libraries, grocery stores and other places that people in your target market might regularly visit. Be sure to ask permission before posting your flier.

You can create the flier yourself using a simple word processing program document. List some basic information about your home health care business, and be sure to include multiple ways to contact you--email, mailing address and phone number. If you have a website, list the URL so people can use it to get more information.

2. Post an ad in your local Yellow Pages. A Yellow Pages ad can be an inexpensive way to reach people who are looking for home health care services. Make sure to investigate all the options for ad sizes and categories to get the most from your advertising dollar. Ask the Yellow Pages representative for status reports on the number of people who search in the categories you are considering for online ads.

You can get a regular business listing that is not an ad on YellowPages.com to help people find your home health care business.

3. Put yard signs up around highly populated intersections and neighborhoods. Include a headline that tells people exactly what you do, such as "Help for senior citizens from the comfort of their own home!" List a phone number and/or website if they'd like to find more information. Make sure the letters/numbers are large enough to see from the road. See your local office supply store for help creating the yard signs.

Before you post your signs, check on any rules within your city about putting up signs on public property.

4. Use a word processing program to create and print out simple coupons. Deliver them door-to-door in nearby neighborhoods or leave them on cars parked in public places such as community centers and libraries. Coupons can be redeemed for a discount on your the regular rates or might offer a free consultation.

5. Promote your home health care business on the road. Purchase a vinyl decal for your car windows or a magnet for the doors. Include your business name, phone number and website.

6. Promote your business in your emails. Add a signature that will be attached to each email you send that includes your name, business name and contact information. Each email carrier has different steps to accomplish the creation of a signature. If you get stuck, click on the "Help" button, or contact your email carrier.
